1. Buy a smart chip resetter. It is available online for about $10.
2. Wipe clean the Epson cartridge using a paper towel. Pay special attention to the area where you attach the chip-resetter. Gently clean the copper nodes at the back end.
3. Clip the Epson chip resetter to the cartridge's back. Make sure the resetter's end with the button comes on the top.
4. Press the button on the top of the resetter and hold it for 5 to 10 seconds. This activity will restore the default OEM settings of the cartridge. The tiny LED light on some chip resetter models also indicate that the smart chip has been reset. The printer then recognizes the cartridge as full.
5. Remove the chip setter from the cartridge by pressing the release clip on the resetter's bottom.
