How to Clean an HP 1320 (4 Steps)

1. Clean the external parts of the printer. Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cable from the power outlet and unplug the data cable connecting the printer to the computer. Dampen a clean cloth with water and use it to clean the printer surfaces. While cleaning, ensure that no water gets inside the printer.
2. Open the top access door and clean the inside of the printer. Wipe toner spills and remove pieces of paper that may be stuck inside. Use the cloth to clean the printer rollers.
3. Ensure that the printer is completely dry. Plug all cables back into their respective ports and turn on the computer and printer. Click 'Start,' 'Control Panel' and then 'Devices and Printers.' Locate the name of your HP printer (HP 1320) among the list of printers installed in the computer. Right-click the name of your printer.
4. Select 'Printing Preferences' and then 'Printer Services' or 'Printer Utility.' Access 'Printer Alignment, 'Nozzle Check' or 'Print Head Cleaning' utilities and follow the instructions that will appear on your screen to complete each process.
