1. Gather your supplies and lay down several sheets of newspaper over your work area to prevent any mess from the printer ink.
2. Different printers hold different amounts of ink. Review the chart that should be included with your refill kit to see how much ink your cartridge will hold. Fill the syringe with one of the ink colors.
3. Before inserting the syringe needle, make a small hole in the top of the ink cartridge for whichever ink color chamber you need to refill. The hole is at the top of the ink cartridge close to the label. Just push the syringe needle through the hole and press to the bottom of the cartridge toward the outlet hole. Squeeze the syringe slowly but firmly to inject the ink into your ink cartridge. Be sure to keep the needle as deep into the sponge as possible. To be sure you saturate the ink sponge, pull the needle out and reinsert it at a different angle once or twice during the ink refilling process. Keep injecting slowly until you see ink begin to appear at the top of the sponge. Be sure to stop at the very first sign of ink in the sponge. Do not put any more ink into the chamber.
4. Repeat the same steps for the other ink colors that need to be refilled.Be sure to thoroughly rinse the syringe and needle with warm water between colors, or this will contaminate the next chamber you refill.
5. After you've refilled all the chambers of your print cartridge, wipe any excess ink from the cartridge. Fold a paper towel in half then in half again and hold it against the print head. To remove any excess ink and air bubbles trapped, hold the paper towel against the print head for two to three minutes.
6. It's a good idea to let your ink cartridge sit for a few hours before installing it back into your printer. This will help to stabilize the pressure inside the ink cartridge.
7. Install the refilled ink cartridge back into your printer. Run the cleaning cycle once or until there are no gaps in the printing.
