1. Turn off your HP 4100 printer by flipping the 'Power' switch on the right side of the printer to the 'Off' position.
2. Press and hold the 'Go' button on the top of the printer near the display. Turn on your HP 4100 printer by flipping the 'Power' switch to the 'On' position.
3. Release the 'Go' button when 'Cold Reset' appears on the printer's display. The word 'Initializing' will appear, followed by 'Restoring Factory Settings.' When the word 'Offline' appears, your printer is reset.
4. Press 'Go' to place your printer online so it can accept print jobs. The word 'Ready' will appear on the display.
Resetting an HP 4100--Multifunction Printer
1. Turn off your HP 4100 MFP printer by flipping the 'Power' switch on the right side of the printer to the 'Off' position.
2. Press and hold the 'Select' button on the front of the printer by the keypad. Turn on your HP 4100 MVP printer by flipping the 'Power' switch to the 'On' position.
3. Release the 'Select' button when all three LED lights illuminate. Press the up arrow button three times until 'Cold Reset' appears on your printer's display.
4. Press the 'Select' button once. The word 'Starts' will appear. Your printer is reset.
