How to Fix an 8Mm Projector Light Bulb

1. Turn off the projector. Unplug it from the wall. Allow the projector time to cool, generally about 30 minutes or so.
2. Locate the bulb compartment. This will be directly behind the projection lens. Look for a bulb compartment cover, which might be held in place with a small screw. In other models (notably Elmo), the cover can be pried out with a small screwdriver.
3. Remove the projector bulb from the socket. In some 8mm projector models, the bulb will screw out, while in others, it can be taken out by turning counter clockwise a quarter turn and then lifting straight up.
4. Wrap the new projector bulb with a piece of tissue. Hold the bulb by the tissue when inserting into the socket. Tighten the bulb in place.
5. Replace the projector bulb compartment cover and secure.
