How to Troubleshoot a Canon for the Check Printer Error

1. Press the printer's power button to turn it off. Wait 10 seconds, then turn the printer back on.
2. Open the printer's top or front cover, depending on the model printer. Ensure the lever that locks over the print cartridges is snapped over the cartridges. If the lever was already snapped over the cartridges, raise it and remove the cartridges, then reinstall them in the printer until each snaps into place. Lower the lever over the cartridges and close the printer's cover.
3. Check the paper feed tray and open the printer's front cover to look for any stuck paper. Carefully pull out any paper you see, making sure to remove any torn pieces.
4. Send a print job to the printer. If the Check Printer error persists, take the printer to a repair shop.
