How to Install a Brother MFC Printer in Ubuntu

1. Plug your Brother MFC Printer in an available USB port on your Ubuntu machine.
2. Go to the Brother Printer Linux Drivers Download site on your favorite web browser, and scroll through the list to find the model number for your MFC printer. Click on the DEB files for both the LPR driver and the Cupswrapper drivers to download them.
3. Double-click on the DEB files to open the software center and confirm that you want to install them. You may have to enter your administrative password if the window pops up asking for it.
4. Open a web browser and enter 'http://localhost:631/printers' (without quotes) in the address field. Your printer should be listed there. If it is not, go to 'http://localhost:631/admin,' click on the 'Add Printer' option and choose your printer model and the drivers you downloaded.
