1. Determine the size of cards you will use. Index cards usually come in 3-by-5 inch, 4-by-6 inch and 5-by-8 inch sizes.
2. Load the cards into your printer tray and adjust the paper guide so they are held in place. Make sure the cards are secure but not so tight that they will not feed.
3. Open the website or document where your information is stored.
4. In Internet Explorer, click on 'File' and then 'Print'.
5. Click the 'Preferences' button.
6. Click the 'Features' tab. Under 'Print Quality' choose 'Landscape' if you are feeding individual cards into the printer. If you are printing from a sheet of perforated cards, choose 'Portrait'.
7. Under 'Size', choose the size of your index card from the pull-down menu. Click 'OK' to save your options.
8. Click 'Print' and watch your formatted index cards appear.
