How to Use an HP Laserjet 3055 As a Scanner

1. Turn on the Laserjet 3055 and the attached computer. Make sure the USB cable is securely connected between the two machines.
2. Wait for the printer to finish its warm-up process. When it is done, either open the lid and load the documents to be copied on the glass, or place them in the feeder located on the top of the machine.
3. Press the 'Start Scan' button on the printer's control panel. After the scan is complete, use the arrow keys on the printer's control panel to select the attached computer as the destination for the digital file.
4. Make any edits to the scanned document using the printer's software on your computer. The software and scanned image will automatically open in a new window on your computer's screen. When you are done making any changes you wish, click on the 'Save Scan' button and choose a location on the computer's hard drive to save the file.
