How to Clean an HP LaserJet P2015 (8 Steps)

1. Unplug the LaserJet copier and wait for a few minutes while the unit cools down.
2. Open the print cartridge door by pressing the door's release button. Grasp the cartridge and pull it up and out of the printer, taking care not to touch the black roller that lies next to cartridge.
3. Place the cartridge on a flat surface and cover it with a sheet of copier paper to protect it from light damage.
4. Wipe out the inside of the cartridge bay using a lint-free cloth to remove any black residue.
5. Place the printer cartridge back inside of the bay and close the cartridge door. Plug in the HP LaserJet printer.
Media Path
1. Check to see that the printer's 'ready' light is on and the unit is idle.
2. Insert a transparency sheet or copier paper into Tray 1.
3. Select 'HP Toolbox' on the control panel. Select 'Print Quality Tools' under 'Troubleshooting.' Click 'Cleaning Page' and press 'Start.' The cleaning process will take a few minutes. The process will stop and start a few times, but do not turn off the printer until the control panel indicates that the cleaning process has been completed.
