How to Fax on an HP Officejet 6310 (3 Steps)

1. Place the document that you want to send face-up in the automatic document feeder. If you want to fax a single-page document, you can also place the page face-down on the scanner bed. If you want to send the fax from the scanner bed, make sure that the automatic document feeder is empty.
2. Use the numerical keys on the Officejet 6310 to enter the number to which you want to send the fax. Dial the number exactly as you would from a regular phone. For example, if you need to dial '9' for an outside line, make sure the '9' is included.
3. Push the 'Start Fax Black' button. If your document is in the automatic document feeder, the Officejet 6310 begins scanning it. If you used the scanner bed, the Officejet 6310 screen displays the message 'Fax from glass.' Push the '1' key to confirm this.
