1. Purchase a universal ink cartridge chip resetting device from a electronics retail shop or online retailer. You can reset the ink cartridge smart chip with these portable devices quite easily.
2. Take the Canon ink cartridge from your printer by snapping it out of the carrier holder.
3. Align the device's pins and cartridge's chip and connect them together, holding them in place.
4. Wait for the device's LED light to turn green. This takes 10 seconds. Afterward, disconnect the resetting device and from the cartridge. The cartridge is now successfully reset.
5. Reinsert the Canon cartridge into your printer by snapping it back into the cartridge carrier holder. Afterward, print out a test page.
