How to Find a Printer's IP Address in Windows XP

1. Log on to your computer, and click on the 'Start' button. Choose 'Control Panel' from the menu.
2. Double-click on the 'Printers and Faxes' icon. Double-click on the printer whose IP address you need to check.
3. Click on the 'Printer' menu, and choose 'Properties' from the menu. Click the 'Print test page' button to send a standard test page to the printer. Review this test page, and find the IP address listed there. The IP address will be a series of four 2- or 3-digit numbers, with each number between 0 and 255. Each number is separated by a period. For example, a typical IP address is 12.25.220.52 or 210.19.79.180.
