How to Install a Deskjet F2430 (10 Steps)

1. Power up the printer and computer and load the computer's operating system. If you are using Windows 7, connect the printer to the computer with the USB cable and wait for a message stating the printer is ready to use.
2. Insert the printer's installation disc into the printer's optical disc drive and follow the instructions in the window that appears.
3. Click on the computer's 'Start' or Windows button on the task bar if the installation software does not automatically open after you insert the CD. Click 'My Computer' to open a separate window.
4. Double-click the icon for your computer's optical drive. The icon should show a picture of a CD and may be labeled 'Deskjet Installer' or something similar.
5. Complete every step in the installation software. Plug the USB cable firmly into the printer and computer when the software directs you to do so.
Internet Installation
1. Power up the printer and the computer and load the computer's operating system. Do not connect the USB cable to the printer or the computer at this time.
2. Open your computer's Web browser and navigate to HP's home page.
3. Click the 'Support and Drivers' tab at the top of the page, then type 'Deskjet F2430' and press 'Enter.' Click your computer's operating system, then click the 'Download' button next to your printer's full software version.
4. Double-click the installation software's icon once the download completes. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
5. Plug the USB cable into the back of the printer and into one of the computer's USB ports when the installation software directs you to do so.
