How to Install an HP DeskJet F4180 All

1. Connect the power adapter to the back of your printer and then connect the power cord to the adapter. Plug the power cord into a wall outlet.
2. Load plain white paper into the front-loading tray of you computer. Press the “On” button on the printer.
3. Open the print cartridge door located above the loading tray. The print cartridge will then move to the center once the cartridge door is open.
4. Remove both of the cartridges and remove the tape on the cartridges. Hold the cartridges so that the HP logo is facing up.
5. Insert the blank ink cartridge into the right slot and insert the tri-color ink cartridge into the left slot. Firmly push in each cartridge until it snaps into place.
6. Close the cartridge door and an alignment page will automatically print. Take the alignment page that prints and place it onto the scanner glass.
7. Close the scanner lid and press the “Scan” button on the printer. Wait for the green “On” light on the printer to stop blinking before continuing.
8. Insert the installation CD into the CD-ROM drive of your computer. Connect the USB cord to your printer and then to your computer once you see the USB prompt on your computer screen.
9. Click on the “Next” button and then click on the “I agree” option from the License Agreement page. Click on the “Next” button.
10. Click on the “Browse” button to determine a location to save the printer software files and then click on the “Next” button. Allow time for the installation process to fully complete and then click on the “Finish” button.
