1. Peel off any tape on the outside of the printer and remove any packing materials from the inside of the printer. Insert the duplexer assembly into the opening in the back of the printer, pressing it into place so the tabs on both ends of the duplexer snap.
2. Lower the printer over tray 2, if included with the printer, lining up the posts in the tray with the holes on the bottom of the printer. Lift the printer's top cover and the latch that sits over the print heads' slot.
3. Shake the print heads six times, then remove them from the package and remove the orange caps. Insert the print heads into the slots that have the same symbols as the stickers on the print heads, then lower the latch over the print heads and lower the printer's top cover.
4. Fold down the print cartridge access door on the left side of the front of the printer. Remove the print cartridges from their packaging, then slide the cartridges into the slot with the same color and symbol as found on the cartridge label. Press on the cartridges until each one clicks to indicate it is seated properly, then fold the access door to the closed position.
5. Lift on the front edge of the printer's output tray, then place a stack of plain paper in the input tray. Adjust the paper width guide to the size of the paper, then lower the output tray. Plug the power cord into the printer and an electrical outlet and press the 'Power' button, then wait for the printer to produce an alignment printout.
6. Insert the printer's installation disc into the computer's optical drive. Follow the instructions on the screen for installing the printer for the computer's operating system and also the type of wireless network available. Plug a USB cable into the printer and the computer when prompted by the software. Unplug the cable when prompted.
