1. Lift the top lid of the PSC1210 and clean the scanner glass with a damp cloth. Use a cotton swab dipped in water to clean the corners of the glass.
2. Open the front cover of the PSC1210 to expose the print cartridges. Wait for the print cartridges to move to the center. Never attempt to move the cartridges by hand.
3. Pull the print cartridges forward gently and remove them from the printer. Set the print cartridges on a flat surface with the metal connectors facing up.
4. Dip a cotton swab in some warm water and carefully clean the entire surface of the metal connectors. Over time paper dust and ink residue can build up and clog the ink jets. Continue swabbing the cartridges until all residue is removed, then replace the cartridges.
5. Lift the paper tray in the PSC1210 and remove all of the paper. Adjust the guides for the paper size you want, then carefully reinsert the paper. Be sure to check for any torn or crumpled sheets before putting the paper back in the tray. Check for paper that is sticking together as well--HP printers and all-in-one units are very sensitive to moisture in the paper. If the paper retains moisture, the printer will pick up more than one sheet at a time and cause jams.
