1. Close the back cover of the printer if the 'Back Cover Open' error message appears on the display. A print job will not complete if the back cover is not completely closed.
2. Remove objects around the exhaust outlet if the 'Machine Is Too Hot' error message is displayed. Leave the printer on but do not use it for several minutes. You can continue printing when the error message clears.
3. Remove and reload the fax machine paper if 'No Paper Fed' appears on the display. Press 'Start' after reloading the paper to continue.
4. Replace the toner cartridge if the 'Toner Life End' message is displayed. Printing cannot continue if the toner is empty.
5. Pull the paper tray completely out of the machine if a paper jam occurs. Pull the jammed paper out of the paper tray opening. Open the front cover. Pull out any jammed paper located in the front of the unit.
6. Plug the USB cable securely into the computer USB port as well as into the port on the 2820 unit. If the interface is not securely plugged in, faxes may still be received, but print jobs from the computer will not print.
7. Adjust the top and bottom margins of a document if part of the document is not printing. The Brother 2820 can only print up to 62 lines per page. Adjust the margins to allow for this limitation.
