1. Use the presser foot lever to lower the presser foot. On the Easy Sew machine, this lever is located at the front, above the presser foot itself.
2. Slot the spool of thread onto the spool pin. This is a plastic stick on top of the machine at the back (the end furthest from the presser foot and needle.)
3. Pass the thread through the first thread guide near to top front of the machine and then around the tension dial at the front, between the metal ridges. The thread should travel from the first thread guide, to the underside of the tension dial and then head back up to the take-up lever, located above and slightly to the side of the tension dial.
4. Pass the thread through the hole in the take-up lever and then hook it through the second thread guide on the presser foot. The second thread guide is a metal hook close to the needle.
5. Put the end of the thread through the eye of the needle, threading from front to back, so that it goes towards the body of the machine. Pull two or three inches of thread through the needle. You are now ready to begin sewing.
