How to Refill Ink Cartridges and Reset the Chip Devices

1. Spread out a towel on the location you are going to work. Remove the ink cartridge from the printing device, and set it on top of the towel.
2. Remove the labels off the top portion of the cartridge. Find the holes, which are underneath the cartridge label. One hole in the middle usually indicates a black ink cartridge, while three holes indicate a color cartridge.
3. Select the colors you will use for the ink cartridge.
4. Connect the needle to the body of the syringe, and insert the needle into the replacement ink bottle. Fill the syringe until at least 10 ml of ink is inside of the syringe.
5. Insert the syringe's needle into the appropriate ink cartridge hole. Squeeze the syringe, using slight pressure, and let the inkwell fill up.
6. Put the label back on the ink cartridge, and reinsert the cartridge into your printing device. Let the printer print several test pages so you can test out your newly refilled cartridges.
Cartridge Chip Resetting
1. Obtain an ink cartridge chip resetter. You can reset the ink cartridge chip with this device so the printer will recognize the refilled cartridge as being full again.
2. Remove the refilled ink cartridge from the printing device.
3. Ensure that the ink cartridge's chip and the device's resetter pins are lined up properly. Press them together until they are fully connected.
4. Hold in position and stop when the device's resetter light turns green. This takes about 10 seconds. A green light indicates that the memory of the cartridge has been reset, and the printer will now recognize your refilled cartridge as full.
5. Reinsert the refilled ink cartridge into the printer. Print out a test page. If the printer does this, then the resetting process was successful.
