1. Visit a website that offers a free ink cartridge recycling program, such as advantagecartridge.com.
2. Click the 'register' link and fill out all of the required fields, including your name, address, phone number, e-mail and so on. You will need to specify your organization name; if you are an individual, simply put your name in the field. If you are part of an organization, complete the information as directed.
3. Select the number of shipping or promotional items that you would like to receive, including wall posters or ink-jet and cell phone collection boxes.
4. Wait for your application to be approved. Once approved, in approximately 7 to 10 days, you will receive your recycling materials.
5. Fill out the correct form included within your packing materials. Place all of your packing materials in the shipping materials provided and return the package to the company, via their prepaid shipping.
6. Wait for your check to come in the mail. This will take about 30 days.
Donate Your Wal-Mart Ink Cartridges
1. Visit the United States Environmental Protection Agency's website, epa.gov. Here you will find a page called 'Where Can I Donate or Recycle My Old Computer and Other Electronic Products?' with a list of recommended local programs for recycling and donating.
2. Click on one of the recommended links and go to the website.
3. Choose the option for 'ink cartridge' in the list, or type it in the box provided. Type in your location as prompted. You will either type in your zip code in the box provided, or your actual address, city, state and zip code.
4. View the list of local recycle sites nearby and choose which one you would like to use. The list will tell you at which sites you can receive a tax deduction form, which sites require you to pay a recycling fee, and which sites are free.
