1. Install the MP Navigator EX software that came with your Canon MX310 printer and scanner, if it not installed already. Insert the software CD that came with your device into your computer's CD drive. A menu will appear prompting you to install software applications that can be used with the MX310. Choose to install MP Navigator EX and follow the on-screen prompts to complete program installation.
2. Open the MP Navigator EX program.
3. Turn on your MX310 and open the document tray located at the top of the device. Doing so will reveal the automated document feeder.
4. Insert the documents that you would like to scan into the automated document feeder. The document feeder can scan up to 30 documents at a time at resolutions up to 1200 by 2400 dpi. Don't load carbon paper, thick paper, onion skin paper, wrinkled paper or paper with holes into the document feeder.
5. Press the 'SCAN' button on your MX310. The MX310 will scan all documents that are in the document feeder into the MP Navigator EX program. You can save the scanned documents to a variety of file formats, including JPEG, TIFF, and BMP image formats and the Adobe PDF document format.
