How to Share a Printer Using a Hub (3 Steps)

1. Start by downloading the printer software onto each computer. This will ensure that the printer will work for both computers. If you are sharing Internet between the two computers as well as the printer using a DSL/cable router, you will need to plug an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the DSL or cable modem, and the other end to the Internet/WAN port on your router.
2. Plug one end of the printer's power cord to the printer. Plug the other end of the AC adaptor to the power supply. Plug the USB cable to the USB port on the backside of the printer, and plug the other end of the cord into USB port on the computer.
3. Add the printer to the computer through the 'Add Printer' program. This program will already be on your computer, so you will not need to do any further software installation. Use your user's guide for your printer to make sure you are adding it correctly to the computer.
