How to Scan Photos to iPhoto (10 Steps)

1. Turn on your scanner.
2. Place your photo on the scanner bed.
3. Open Preview.
4. Select 'File,' 'Import from scanner.' from the main menu. You will see a drop-down list containing external devices on your network. Select your printer to open the Import dialog.
5. Select the 'Mode.' Options are 'Flatbed,' if you have the photo on your flatbed surface, or 'Document Feeder,' if your printer has a built-in feeder.
6. Select a directory for the pictures in the 'Scan To' drop-down list.
7. Click 'Scan' to start the scan process.
8. Open iPhoto.
9. Select 'File,' 'Import to Library' from the main menu to open a search window.
10. Browse to the directory you scanned the photos into and select them. This will import the photos into your iPhoto library.
