1. Make sure your Samsung SCX-4521F is connected to a phone line or a dedicated fax line. If not, plug the cord into the 'Fax' port on the back on the system; plug the other end into the wall jack.
2. Grasp the paper-tray handle on the bottom of the machine. Pull the tray out. Make sure the tray is loaded with paper. If not, position up to 150 sheets into the tray. If you use paper with a pre-printed header, place the paper with the logo or text facing upward. Push the paper tray back in place to close it.
3. Ask the sender to fax the document to you. If using a telephone line, give the sender the telephone number. If using a dedicated fax line, you'll need the fax-line number. If you do not know it, you may need to contact your telephone-service provider to retrieve it.
4. Wait by the fax machine to receive the fax. By default, the Samsung receives faxes automatically. When a fax comes through, it will print through the standard paper feed. If the display shows 'Fax Call' but the machine does not receive the file, the settings have been changed. Press 'Start' or lift the fax handset to answer and receive the fax.
