How to Change Ink Cartridges on Epson Stylus CX6000

1. Turn on the Epson Stylus CX6000.
2. Pull up on the scanner unit to expose the ink cartridge. Make sure to keep the document cover in the closed position.
3. Determine which cartridge needs replacing. The photo viewer screen will have this information.
4. Push the “Setup/Utilities” button on the machine. Push one of the arrow buttons on the machine and choose “Press Start to change cartridges.” Push the “Start” button on the machine.
5. Push the “Start” button again.
6. Pull back the cartridge cover to access the ink cartridges.
7. Press the tab on the back of the cartridge and pull it straight up to remove it.
8. Shake the new ink cartridge five times while it is still in the package.
9. Open the package and remove it without touching the green chip at the front of the cartridge.
10. Pull off the yellow tape on the bottom of the ink cartridge.
11. Push the new cartridge into the cartridge holder. It will snap into place. Repeat steps 7 through 11 to replace additional cartridges.
12. Replace the cartridge cover. It will snap into place.
13. Close the scanner unit and push the “Start” button. The photo viewer screen will show “Charging Ink.” It will take about one minute to charge the ink. Do not turn off the machine while it is charging.
