How to Clean Lexmark Printer Cartridges

1. Use a clean, lint-free cloth to clean your print cartridge. Get the cloth a little damp with clean water.
2. Remove the print cartridge from your Lexmark printer. Place the bottom of the print cartridge on the cloth, or the side opposite the Lexmark label. Hold it still against the cloth for three seconds.
3. Wipe the print cartridge against the cloth, pushing it toward the thinner end of the cartridge, or the side farthest from the label.
4. Hold a clean side of the cloth against the edge of the print cartridge that contains the contacts, or the side just below the label. Hold for three seconds.
5. Wipe the cloth upwards, toward the label, to clean the contacts. Repeat steps 2 through 4 once.
6. Let the print cartridge dry completely before placing them back into your Lexmark printer. You may have to repeat the process again, but don't repeat it more than two additional times.
