1. Click the Windows 'Start' button and select 'Run.' Enter 'cmd' into the text box and click 'OK.' This opens the Windows command prompt.
2. Enter 'ipconfig /renew' in the command prompt to refresh your dynamic IP address. Press 'Enter.'
3. Open your network connection. Because the DHCP server manages IPs, it gives your computer an available IP address that isn't already taken on the network. The next time you access network resources, you no longer receive the IP conflict area.
Static IP
1. Right-click 'Network Neighborhood' on your desktop. If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7, the icon is labeled 'Network.' Select 'Properties.'
2. Right-click your network card and select 'Properties.' For most users, the network card is labeled 'Local area LAN Connection.'
3. Click 'TCP/IP' in the list of protocols. Click the 'Properties' button underneath the list of protocols. Enter a new IP address in the opened window.
4. Click 'OK' to confirm your settings. You can now browse the network without the IP conflict error.
