1. Shut down and unplug the HP 4050.
2. Reconnect the printer to its power adapter.
3. Locate the 'Item' and 'Value' buttons on the HP LaserJet 4050's control panel. Press and hold down the left side of these buttons, then turn on the printer.
4. Continue holding until you see a 'Reset Maint Count' message in the printer's control panel. Wait for the control panel to show 'Ready.'
