How to Reset the Toner Chip on a Samsung CLP

1. Purchase a replacement toner chip from an online retailer like 123 Refills or InkFilling (see Resources). You will need a credit or debit card to order the replacement toner chip. Replacement chips typically cost $3 to $5. If possible, order your replacement chip when you order your toner refill kit (typically available from the same retailers) so you save some money on shipping.
2. Remove your toner cartridge from the printer. Locate the chip on the top of the toner cartridge.
3. Peel the backing off the new replacement chip and stick it on top of the old chip. According to UniKit, you should not remove the old chip, since it is fused to the toner cartridge.
4. Place the toner cartridge back in the printer. Test the printer to see if it works.
Purchase Toner Reset Device
1. Purchase a toner reset device, if you are not concerned about money and don't mind investing more than you paid for the printer itself. Check online retail listings like Amazon or AliBaba to find a toner reset device. Some of the retailers listed there may not be reputable or recognizable, so order at your own risk.
2. Remove the toner cartridge from your printer.
3. Turn the toner reset device to the 'on' position. Insert the pins that stick out of the device into the corresponding holes on the toner chip. Look for the reset device's indicator light to turn green, signaling that the toner chip is reset.
