How to Change Ink in a CX7400 Series (6 Steps)

1. Turn the power on to your Epson Stylus CX7400 printer. Lift the scanner bed to see the ink cartridges.
2. Press the “Stop” button. The cartridge carrier will shift and stop at the empty cartridge. If there is only one cartridge empty, the carrier will move to the far right. If not, press the “Stop” button again to identify the next empty cartridge. Repeat the process until the carrier moves to the far right.
3. Grasp the tab on the rear of the cartridge cover and lift up to open the carrier. Squeeze the tabs on the top of the ink cartridge to release the cartridge from the carrier. Lift the cartridge out and throw it away.
4. Shake the new cartridge a few times while it is still packaged. Open the package and remove the yellow protective tape from the bottom. Press the new cartridge into the carrier until the tabs lock in place.
5. Repeat the cartridge replacement steps for the remaining empty cartridges. Press the carrier cover down until it clicks. Close the scanner bed.
6. Press the “Stop” button to charge the cartridges. The “On” light will flash until the charging process is complete.
